About Macdonald High School
Macdonald High School is committed to developing our students’ individual talents, critical thinking, and technology skills. Macdonald High School provides a balanced, varied school curriculum, designed to meet the academic, cultural, and social needs of our students from diverse backgrounds. We are “the school with the big heart”, dedicated to a collaborative, community-based approach in order to maintain high academic standards in a safe and caring environment.
Learn about our programs
- Enriched Program: Courses taught in French: Français Enrichi, Sciences et Technologie Avancées, Géographie/Histoire Avancées & Éthiques. Courses taught in English: Advanced English, Advanced Mathematics, Arts Option, Physical Education & Ethics. *In order to be admitted into the grade 7 Enriched Program, an exam must be written in the spring of the student’s Grade 5 year. Information is forwarded through the elementary schools, as well as posted on the school board website.
- Immersion Program: Français, Geographie/ Histoire, Science et Technologies, ethiques are all taught in French. English Language Arts, Mathematics, Arts Option, and Physical Education are taught in English.
- Regular Program: All courses are taught in English with the exception of Francais course
