Thomas Rhymes
Assistant Director General

Tom is a native of Sydney, Nova Scotia who attended King’s College and Dalhousie University in Halifax. He has worked as an elementary and secondary teacher for the Kativik School Board, Baldwin-Cartier School Board and the CS Lester B. Pearson. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from King’s College, a Bachelors of Education Degree from Dalhousie and a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Mcgill University. After leaving the classroom, Tom spent twelve years as an in-school administrator at Spring Garden Elementary School, Riverdale High School and Lasalle Community Comprehensive High School. From 2012-2015 Mr. Rhymes served as the Director of Schools for Region II of the Lester B. Pearson School Board. In July 2015 he was appointed to the post of Senior Director responsible for Educational and Information Services for Lester B. Pearson, a position he held until assuming his current role of Assistant Director General in July 2017.
