Nathalie Constant holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from McGill University. With 28 years of experience, Nathalie has dedicated her career to the support of students, parents, school staff, and community partners in the areas of psychosocial education, social-emotional learning, and positive school climate. As a consultant in the Student Services Department at the Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB), she creates and delivers professional development for school teams, school board professionals, and members of the community. As a long-standing member of the Family and School Support and Treatment Team (FSSTT), Nathalie provides on-site support for school personnel through case consultations and peer mentoring. As a member of the Centre of Excellence for Mental Health (CEMH), Nathalie assists in the implementation of evidence informed approaches in the field of mental health, both locally and provincially. By sharing resources, and creating documents related to mental health, she responds to needs expressed by the school communities.

Furthermore, Nathalie is the LBPSB leader (agent-pivot) for the school climate, anti-bullying and anti-violence ministerial dossier. Since the inception of this ministerial initiative 12 years ago, she meets regularly with the leaders (agent-pivots) of the five Montreal area school centres. This dynamic team of professionals share evidence-based best practices, develop supporting documents and workshops in the area of school climate and bullying prevention, as well as address the impact of topics such as sexual diversity, intercultural issues and polarization on our school communities. She also collaborates with all leaders (agent-pivots) of the provincial English school boards by creating and sharing documents and reference tools to support and help implement the legal requirements associated with Bill 56. Within this dossier, Nathalie collaborates with a variety of community partners locally and provincially such as police forces, the Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales (DPCP), and the West Island Black Community Association (WIBCA).

Nathalie is also a member of the LBPSB Health Promotion and Prevention Team (HPP) where she collaborates closely with other Student Services consultants, working on dossiers related to sexuality education and addictions prevention. Together, they spearhead an evidence-based special project with several LBPSB schools to build capacity in the sustaining of a positive school climate. Their mandate is to accompany school teams through a collaborative approach model while offering peer support, providing and facilitating workshops for school staffs, and examine related data sources in order to make informed decisions related to their school climate improvement process. She also sits on several ‘tables de concertation’ in order to facilitate the coordination services offered by the Centres intégrés universitaires de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS). Nathalie works diligently to promote safety, inclusion, and equity for all students and staff within the LBPSB community.
